Comparatively speaking Montecristo is a relatively new brand that was launched in 1937. They were developed in conjunction with the then importers of Cuban cigars into the UK, John Hunter Morris, half of the name of the company which to this day still imports all Cuban cigars into the UK – Hunters and Frankau.
